Description of the technological process for extracting CO2 from flue gases (exhaust gases)

station extraction EURI-2000, is designed for 24-hour operation in fully automatic mode, the absorption technology is based on MEA, using a 35% monoethanolamine solution (MEA).

The exhaust gas is directed to the catalytic converter (De-Nox unit), where nitrogen oxides NOx are removed from the flue gas. After the catalyst, the hot exhaust gases are fed to the MEA reboiler to provide the heat required to release CO2. The gas is then sent to a flue gas scrubber, where it is cooled.

The exhaust gas scrubber is used for both cooling and removing various water-soluble impurities.

A smoke exhauster is installed at the exhaust gas scrubber inlet to maintain system pressure.

In theAbsorption - columna chemical reaction of the MEA solution with CO22 Takes place, and about 80-90% of the carbon dioxide from the exhaust gas The remaining gases, mainly N22 and O22 are discharged through the upper part of the absorber To prevent losses MEA and water to the atmosphere, the remaining gas is cooled in the washing section MEA and returned to the absorber.

The treated gas is supplied to the lower part of the absorption column. Where it moves upward through the hollow filler and reacts with a 32% MEA (monoethanolamine) solution, moving countercurrently to it.

Saturated solution MEA (saturated gas) CO22) with bottom part absorber it is fed into the upper part of the stripper column (desorber). Before serving in desorber solution passes through intermediate saturated/depleated heat exchanger solution. In the lower part stripper column, a saturated MEA solution heated by exhaust gases in the reboiler releases the chemical. compound CO2. After that, the saturated solution MEA becomes depleted.

The depleted MEA solution is returned to the absorption column through the enriched/depleted solution heat exchanger. The depleted MEA solution is cooled in two stages: first, passing through the enriched/depleted MEA solution cooler, and then, before returning to the upper part of the absorber, with cooling water in the cooler.

Also, in the regenerator, the MEA solution adsorbs heat-resistant salts. The regeneration process is continuous and fully automated. Thermostable salts are removed by heating the MEA solution. A portion of the returned depleted MEA solution is passed through a carbon pad for purification.

From the top of the stripper column, gaseous CO22 it comes through a water scrubber to remove any traces МEА into the gas liquefaction unithere the gas, CO22 compressed in a two-stage oil-free compressor.

The compressed gas is cooled in a two-stage cooler before it is supplied for dehydration. The dehydrator is automatically regenerated by purging CO2 gas from a condenser heated by an internal heating system. It is cooled using a small amount of pure gas from a CO2 condenser. In addition, during drying, the dehydrator removes trace amounts of oxides, such as aldehydes.

Behind the dehydrator, there is a carbon filter that removes residual odorous substances from the gas. To obtain CO 2 of high purity, the unit is equipped with a rectification system to remove non-condensable gases.

Carbon dioxide from the activated carbon filter is sent through a superheater to the rectification unit, where it is cooled before being supplied to the CO2 condenser. Condensate from the CO2 condenser flows under its own weight into the lower part of the distillation column, where it is supplied to the distillation column in a counterflow with stripper gas from the reboiler through the column filling.

Purge gas consumption depends on the CO2 pressure. Purge gas is used in the pneumatic control system instead of compressed air.

The refrigeration unit includes a refrigeration compressor, a CO 2 condenser, a refrigerant condenser, and a receiver. Refrigeration equipment is controlled by the CO 2 pressure on the gas side of the carbon dioxide condenser.

Liquefied CO 2 is stored in a storage tank at a pressure of approximately 15-18 bar and a corresponding temperature of -27°/ -23°C.
